Fallout 4 Mods Ctd

admin

Updating mods. Fallout 4 updates automatically from Steam. I've gone over most of my mods, and definitely all the ones I believe could be influencing and updated them where applicable. I know NMM doesn't always let me know when there are updates available. F4SE is also up-to-date. I haven't played FO4 since December due to work; really enjoy the gameIt's been so long since I played that I figured starting a new game would be a good idea. After I started a new game and got to the House quest the game crashed while I was talking to Codsworth. I used Charisma on him asking 'You Alight?' And the dialogue started and after about 5-10 seconds the game crashed to the desktop; no warnings or information.Trying to open the game save has yielded the same results only worse. As soon as the game loads it crashes right back to the desktop.I verified my game files; they are validated without error. I've never had to do that so I'm not sure what an error or issue would look like had there been one.I haven't tried my old game saves yet.

I'll edit to input results here:.Old game saves crash to desktop as well.I have not uninstalled and reinstalled the game. If old game saves yield the same results I will try a fresh install and post the results here:.Reinstalled the game FULLY; same reults.Anyone having this same issue? Did you get it resolved and how?Any advice on remedying this issue? Thanks in advance. Originally posted by:Something that hasn't been asked yet:Are your settings at minimum?

Or are they set higher? If you've set them higher then it's going to tax your system a lot more and that may be causing instability.Considering the new update destroyed performance that might explain why you can't even launch the game. Everyone is getting a framedrop due to the lack of optimisations in Automatron. So give it a week or two and there should be a fix.As Fuzzy said, you are just sitting at the minimum spec's so don't be angry that you cannot run the game. I can't see your specs but honestly man, upgrade a few little things and you should be good. You might be able to play it in a year or so I had the same problem back with my old crappy PC and Fallout 3. Issue happens no matter what the settings are. Didn't have these issues for the 90+ hours of game play before now and that was with the settings just below Ultra.Seems like I'm not the only one that is having this issue or similar issues.I'm gonna try a Full Reinstall. My connection is 75/75 fiber; it should take too long. I'll just study for my Network+ exam for the time being. Try deleting the contents of data/strings folder, and then deleting your inis in /documents. Then reverify the files on steam. Then start up, and see if it works.

Crash

Also make sure the new inis aren't read-only, unless you are comofrtable with the settings once you get the game running again.I had to delete a string file to get it properly downloaded again validating the files. Some people also mentioned ini changes in 1.3 or 1.4. Neither of us had played since december, so we may have had the same issues. Deleting the strings before revalidating again got the game to stop crashing on launch for me. Although in my case it may have been because an old (bhal's I think) sorting version altered a string file.
