Skyrim Cutting Room Floor

This is a sub-page of.This page houses Skyrim's unused dialogue. The text is copied directly from the game when possible, so any spelling errors or missing words in the 'Text' file are completely intentional and should not be altered. 'Script Notes' and 'Edits' tabs are NOT copied from the Creation Kit, just the text. Sometimes, when there is only an audio file and no in-game text available, subtitles will have been made from scratch and these might not be 100% punctuated like Bethesda might've envisioned. Things like these will always be stated beforehand.
Ranging from unheard flavor text to entire cut questlines!AmrenA third response from Amren to the question 'You're not from Skyrim, are you?' This response was supposed to be used if the player is a Redguard, however, the condition checks if the player is a Nord instead. Because Nords already have a dedicated dialogue response, this one goes unused.SpeakerTextFilePlayerYou're not from Skyrim, are you?AmrenHa! And neither are you, eh? Good to see another Redguard. I like to think we bring a little heat to this frozen wasteland. Captain Lonely-GaleCaptain Lonely-Gale went through a major character change during development.

While in the final game he's just a retired riverboat captain, he started out as the Stormcloak-aligned guard captain of Windhelm. He's still referred to as such in a scene between Belyn Hlaalu and his farmhand Adisla in the final game. After that, he was supposed to be Brunwulf Free-Winter's Steward in case of Imperial victory in the civil war, but for some reason Jorleif remains as Steward, meaning his new dialogue can also never be heard.Steward Dialogue SpeakerTextFilePlayerIs the war really over?Lonely-GaleI wish I could say that it was, but it's not that simple. LodIn the final game Lod is Falkreath's blacksmith, this wasn't always the case, however. Originally, Lod's character was that of a struggling farmer who lived at a farm called 'Gentle Repose', he wasn't really liked by the other town residents and would be involved in some questionable activities to make some money.
Lod is deliberately kept away from the inn in the final game, this is because if he would enter, some of his scenes would play out. These scenes don't match up with his new character description, but with his old one.
Bethesda actually managed to correctly do this, meaning the scenes indeed go unused.Scene 1 SpeakerTextFileLodAh Tekla, you're a pretty little mouse. Nura Snow-ShodIf the Imperials take over Riften during the civil war, the worship of Talos will get outlawed. Nura, the local priestess of Talos, will no longer leave her house as a result. You were supposed to be able to ask her what happened to the Talos shrine but since her trespassing lines override all her unique dialogue, these lines go unheard.SpeakerTextFilePlayerWhat happened to the shrine of Talos?NuraNow that the Imperial blight has poisoned Riften, the worship of Talos is strictly forbidden by the terms of the White-Gold Concordat. Soljund's Sinkhole Unused ScenesThe quest of the same name started at Soljund's Sinkhole has a couple of different bugs, resulting in some of Perth, the quest giver's, dialogue going unused. After starting the quest, Perth was supposed to return to the Miner's House and have two pre-quest scenes with co-worker Tuthul, but seeing as his ai packages for after the player accepts the quest prevent him from entering it, the scene can never play.Scene 1 SpeakerTextFileTuthulThose draugr are going to come up and kill us all. Windhelm House Purchase LineBefore finishing the quest Blood on the Ice, you cannot purchase a house in Windhelm.
Jorleif, the steward, will tell you 'There is an empty home in the city, but there was some. Unpleasantness recently. I'm afraid it's not available just yet.' This line is for some reason recorded in 9 other voicetypes as well, but goes unused, obviously.SpeakerTextFileFemaleEvenTonedThere is an empty home in the city, but there was some. I'm afraid it's not available just yet.
