Traveling around in an RV is a great way to see the world and experience new places and food. However, constantly eating out can be expensive, and you can only pack so much food in the camper. An RV microwave convection oven can help you save time, money, and ensure you get a quality meal on the road. Check out these top-rated convection ovens to install in your RV.
This over-the-range stainless steel convection microwave oven features 850 watts of power. It also includes baking, broiling, crisping, and roasting options to prepare all sorts of food.
It includes a two-color, seven-digit interactive display with a Smart and Easy sensor to help guide you in selections. It also comes with an exhaust system, hood light, fan, and double rack shelving.
It is heavy and weighs a total of 72 pounds, which can make it difficult to install and move around. The fan can be loud, and the control panel isn’t lit, so operating at night can be a hassle.
Best Value
This convection microwave is made up of tough, stainless steel design. The machine puts out 1,000 watts and includes temperatures ranging from 145 degrees to 425 degrees.
The oven has six preset options and sensor cooking technology to help choose quick settings for certain foods. It has an interior light with a grill rack for convection cooking.
It is on the large size, coming in at 21.8 x 21.5 x 13.0 inches, so it may not fit properly on countertops or in spaces designed for ovens on RVs. The cook times may also vary on certain foods, and you might have to adjust how long they are in the oven.
Honorable Mention
KitchenAid Convection Bake Digital Countertop Oven
The oven comes with 1,800 watts to heat up food, bake pizza, broil a dish, or toast bread. It has nine pre-programmed functions to prepare your food more efficiently.
The interior of the oven is large and features a non-stick coating for easy cleaning. Other additions are a broiling and cooling rack, plus a non-stick drip tray.
The preheating function can be a hassle. While it will preheat the oven, you will have to press the start button again after reaching the proper heat to switch the oven to cook mode. There are also no lights on the interior to monitor what may be inside.

Why Trust Us
All of our reviews are based on market research, expert input, or practical experience with most products we include. This way, we offer genuine, accurate guides to help you find the best picks.
Tips
- Stay inside or nearby the RV while using a convection oven to monitor it. Just like at home, you will want to ensure the oven functions properly and doesn’t overheat or overcook the food.
- Many ovens can be mounted to the wall to save space in an RV. Note the measurements of the oven and compare them with the space inside the RV to ensure there is enough room for the appliance.
- Never put metal silverware, dishes, or cookware in the oven when using the microwave setting. They conduct electricity and can short out the device and other appliances in the RV. They could also start a fire in the camper. Be careful when cooking with metal utensils in the oven in general.
FAQs
Q: How do I clean a convection oven?
A: Wait until the oven is completely cool to the touch before cleaning it. Use a damp dish towel to wipe down the inside of the oven. You can also place the cooking racks in the dishwasher. There are certain cleaning products you can spray inside the oven and then wipe it with a rag.
Q: How long does an RV microwave convection oven take to heat up?
A: This varies on the settings. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to 10 minutes to fully heat up the inside of the oven.
Q: Do the cook times vary on convection ovens?
A: Convection ovens are smaller than home ovens and therefore their cooking times may vary. Monitor the food you are cooking to make sure it is fully cooked. You can check the food by removing it from the oven early. If it is still raw, place it back in the oven for a few minutes.
Final Thoughts
For a durable convection oven with a ton of features and cooking times, consider the Sharp Over-the-Range Convection Microwave Oven.

Post Info | TOPIC: baking bread in mic/convection? |

Does anyone have a Contoure Convection Grill microwave/convection oven and do you bake bread in it? I have a class C and have somehow misplaced or lost the little manual that came with the mic/convection oven. I am thinking I could perhaps bake my own bread, since most store-bought, even the most expensive, bread seems to be the quality of wasp nests. I've thought of getting a breadmaker, but they are heavy and probably wouldn't fit anywhere in the rig. Any information is welcome.

See if this is the manual you are looking for. http://www.sailorsams.com/pdf-files/CMC12070S%20Owner%20Manual.pdf -- Edited by Bill Adams on Sunday 15th of May 2011 05:35:33 AM __________________ |

We've baked bread and everything else you would bake, in our Sharp convection microwave without any problems. We have found, with ours at least, that there is no reason to change the temperature or baking time. Works wonderfully though.

Thank you! It's exactly what I need and I have downloaded it. Maybe homemade bread will result! Freedom from wasp nest bread! Again, you're a champ! Thanks.

This Post has nothing to do with Ovens and baking. And I don't mean to hi-jack the subject, but I noticed that keithmaryq have just become members of this site today. I was somewhat taken with the handle (names) because my parents (both deceased now) names were Keith & Mary. Just saying ! __________________ Larry & Brenda Burton + Skeeter the Toy Poodle FT'in since Thanksgiving 2014 2006 Newmar Scottsdale 32' for sale or trade for at least a 40' DP of same value. |

Keith and Mary, First of all, welcome to the RV Dreams forums. Glad to have you. You might get an answer from Roll Me Away, but not likely from Bill Adams. rocknb..if your mom and dad are watching over us they have quite the job -- we're new at RVing and welcome the 'oversight'

Well 'IF' they are watching over you folks, they have double duty. We are very new to the rv scene & we are FT'rs also. Actually my Dad used his middle name 'Keith' because his first name was biblical ' Jephthah' and it was difficult to explain when he was boy. Mother was all ways referred to as 'Mary Jane'. And so goes the family history. Welcome or as I normally say Howdy Howdy, keithmaryq, Since you folks are new to the site, you can often find out something about the folks who have commented on the various threads. I think, the RV Dreams moderator 'Terry and Jo ' mentioned this in their welcome. You can click on their 'handle or name' and possibly get an idea of who folks are and where their from. IF they have completed their bio..on the sign up portion ! I often do this.. it seems to create more of a family feeling. You must be signed-in, if you intend to comment or check-out the bio.. . Hope you will enjoy RV Dreams. -- Edited by rocknb on Tuesday 13th of January 2015 08:11:17 PM __________________ Larry & Brenda Burton + Skeeter the Toy Poodle FT'in since Thanksgiving 2014 2006 Newmar Scottsdale 32' for sale or trade for at least a 40' DP of same value. |

Want to thank heyduke for the bread recipes. I fixed the Focaccia last night to go with an oxtail stew, it turned out perfect, and I haven't made homemade bread in probably 30 years. The only problem was that my onions on top burned a little bit, but the top and bottom both browned up nice. Can't wait to try the Everything Bagels. I would post a picture, but don't know how to do that. Ann __________________ Life is a Journey Hank & Ann Maggie and Weezie 2005 36 CK3 Mobile Suites 5th Wheel 2012 Ford F350 DRW 4x4 Lariat |
